Software Solutions Integrated, LLC (SSI) is pleased to announce the renewal of our SOC 2 certification. SOC 2 is a stringent cybersecurity certification sought after by software providers. The certification is the result of a voluntary and intensive audit process. SOC 2 certification demonstrates SSI’s commitment to the security of data for customers using SSI software platforms, including Agvance and Energy Force. This system examination ensures that as a service provider, SSI manages data to protect the interests of its customer’s organization and their clients.
“At SSI, we have a strong commitment and adherence to cybersecurity. The security of our data and our customer’s data is taken very seriously,” says Austin Jabs, Chief Security Officer at SSI. “We understand that when you are relying on a piece of software to efficiently run your business, you can’t always see everything going on behind the scenes to make that secure. That is where we come in. We take the extra steps to ensure security of our platform for our customers.”
During the certification renewal process, the independent auditing firm CliftonLarsonAllen LLP tested and verified that SSI is following best practices for a secure environment and secure platforms. “We welcome the testing as aggressive as it possibly can be. We are not just trying to check a box but rather want the auditors to test us as thoroughly and as strongly as possibly,” says Jabs. The testing can uncover any potential vulnerabilities mimicking very malicious hackers trying to infiltrate our environment and cause chaos. SSI’s internal controls successfully mitigated and stopped penetration during this stringent testing process which resulted in certification renewal.
SOC 2 stands for System and Organization Controls. SOC 2 defines the criteria for managing customer data based on 5 trust service principles: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. The certification includes a Type 1 report of management’s description of their organization’s system and the suitability of the design of controls. Testing included multiple rounds of questionnaires and penetration testing throughout the almost 6-month process.
As Chief Security Officer, Jabs expands on the importance of SOC 2 for SSI customers saying, “We go above and beyond to tighten things down and do things the right way. We care about our customers, and it shows. SSI customers can be confident that we are committed to ensuring that our environment is safe and secure.”
